Pelvic floor dysorder (PFD) is a condition in which the muscles in the pelvis do not work properly. The role of these muscles is to support various pelvic organs, including the bladder, prostate, rectum and female reproductive organs. Problems with the pelvic floor muscles can lead to urinary roblems and fecal incontinence (bowel dysfunction).
Symptoms or Pelvic Floor Disorder are not an inevitable part of aging and can get worse with time if you don't seek treatment. PFD can affect our quality of life and that of those we love as we stop doing activities we previously enjoyed due to fear of leaking, pain, etc. The good news is that PFD can be succesfully managed and even eliminated.
